HOUSTON-Acclaimed Canadian-born singer/songwriter Matt Brouwer returns February 28 with Till The Sunrise, the highly-anticipated follow-up to his JUNO Award-winning 2009 release, Where's Our Revolution. Produced by Michael Omartian (Vince Gill, Peter Cetera), engineered by Terry Christian (Lionel Richie, Keith Urban), and featuring acclaimed Nashville session musicians Zod Lounge, among others, the project includes 11 selections, all written or co-penned by Brouwer.
Featuring themes of unity, collaboration and commitment, and largely inspired by Brouwer's 2010 marriage, highlights of Till The Sunrise include the title track; "Tonight"; "Love Can Find A Way," featuring JJ Heller and co-penned with Dave & JJ Heller; "Thornside" and "Someone Else's Arms," co-written with Jeff Somers; and "One For Another" and "One In A Million," co-written with Jill Paquette DeZwaan.
"Till The Sunrise is the joyful outcome of digging in and working hard over the last few years, and it's an album that reflects a new season," Brouwer says. "Life now feels more complete than ever as I share it with my wife, Hannah. My music and career have found new inspiration, and everything really feels fresh. These songs truly reflect how much better off we are when we take the risk to love and live for something beyond ourselves. The sum really is greater than the parts."
The album's debut single, "Ocean," written by Brouwer, speaks to a culture in need of authentic relationships. "'Ocean' is about our generation, how we long for connection and yet seem to be so isolated in many ways," Brouwer explains. "The expanse and mystery of the ocean has always had a major appeal to me. Yet something so beautiful and amazing can also be treacherous and terrifying, and that explains how it feels to be lost in our lives as well. It's the love of God that anchors us to reality and gives us Hope and light in the darkness."
For more than a decade, Matt Brouwer has been among Christian music's most respected singer/songwriters. Where's Our Revolution garnered Canada's prestigious JUNO Award in 2010 for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year, and Brouwer has also has received two GMA Canada Covenant Awards and two Canadian people's choice Vibe Awards. His hit radio singles include "Water," "I Shall Believe," "Father I Adore You," and "Sometimes."
